Team recognition for excellence

Researchers across UVic will be delighted to learn that the humans of UVic’s Animal Care Services unit have been recognized with two national and one international awards:
The Canadian Association of Laboratory Animal Science (CALAS) has honoured ³Ô¹ÏÍø Veterinary Director Michele Martin as . The award recognizes her dedication to exceptional mentorship of veterinarians, managers, and technical staff in the laboratory animal science field, as well as her ongoing commitment to improving animal welfare in research and fostering the same in others.
CALAS has also recognized UVic’s Animal Care team with the for their exceptional commitment to excellence, collaboration, support, dedication, resilience, integrity and their deeply rooted care for the animals and research.
For her significant contributions to the field of laboratory animal care and use, Jennifer MacDonald has received the prestigious International Fellowship Award from the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care. As part of the award, she will tour several state-of-the-art animal facilities in the UK.
